‘Retention’ employs Video, Sound and Old photographs to re-explore and reinvent history as conveyed through close introspection of a place, an object or entity which comprises what we refer to as the ‘history’ of a time. This close introspection of a place, an object or entity not only evokes in us a sense of the time passed but also sheds light on the way we relate to it; in other words, these act as agents through which we interact with history. ‘Retention’ tries to bring new life to the history of a time by capturing these agents rather than more focused means of recording history like picture-portraits.
