Insomnia

This light installation, which is primarily about revealing illuminated lines in a dark enclosure, relates itself to the psychological experience one goes through during the state of Insomnia. The intense dark space in the room and the radiating colors of the softly yet sharply beaming lights create a space which embodies a deeply personal experience that remains unspecific but indicative.

Conceived with a minimalist sense of space and minimum or no distraction of details, this work has an inescapable, almost seductive, inviting power that engages the viewers with their own pondering self. This space, at once symbolic and physical, is by turns oppressive yet absorbing; psychedelic yet sensuous.
